An essential saddle accessory, the girth plays a major role in riding. Without it, the saddle would struggle to stay in place. But the artistically wound girths displayed on this scarf, designed by one of Hermès' great artists, serve a completely different purpose. Placed across the horse's belly and chest, they hold the blankets in place and keep the horse warm in cold weather. Essential for comfort, they also contribute to the elegance that characterizes this noble animal. In very good condition. The rolled edges are nicely rounded and plump. Note the slight marks on the folds and a small stain visible in the last photo.

This scarf was reissued in 1990 and has been regularly produced ever since. A classic from the House of Hermès. A very original and elegant palette. The colors are vibrant, deep, and superb: red, pink, blue, green, ochre, and burgundy.
