The first descriptions of the ancestor of the organ come from Greece and date back to the 3rd century BC. For this Square, Pierre Marie was inspired by engravings taken from a work published in 1766 and signed by Dom Bédos de Celles, a Benedictine monk who was also a recognized Organ Builder (also called Organier).
As much as to represent this gigantic instrument, Pierre Marie's design seems to want to project the sound of the organ to envelop the listener who owns this magnificent Carré from all sides.
