Hermès Scarf 90 cm – Le Chant du Henné – Laurence Bourthoumieux – Silk Mousseline

VENDU

“Le Chant du Henné” (The Song of Henna) by Laurence Bourthoumieux – Hermès scarf, 100% silk mousseline, 90 cm

Originating in Mesopotamia or Iran, henna, Lawsonia inermis in Latin, is said to have been introduced to Egypt under the Third Dynasty, some 3,000 years ago. Its uses are many, in cosmetics, therapy and dermatology. In India, henna brings luck: the darker the red in a bride's palm, the more she will be loved. As for the dot on the forehead, it is a talisman. The finesse of the design by Laurence Bourthoumieux (who sometimes signs as Toutsy), whose artistic inspiration is often drawn from the countries of Asia and the East, is enhanced by the delicacy and transparency of the silk mousseline. A sublime gift for a bride-to-be. Excellent condition. Never worn. Very rare and sought after. In its Hermès box.

Size: approx. 90 × 90 cm (36" × 36") – 100% silk – Made in France – Authentic pre-owned Hermès scarf
